Mackenzie Day

Mackenzie Day is currently the 8th-grade science teacher and science department lead at Gateway Middle School. This is her 5th year teaching at GMS. Born and raised in Indiana, she earned a degree in education from Indiana University. Mackenzie moved to San Francisco to start her teaching career with GPS. She is passionate about bringing STEM to life through exploration, integrating the community and arts, building strong relationships, and developing students' identities as scientists. In her free time, Mackenzie loves being active, exploring the Bay Area, cooking, and pursuing her creative passions. Mackenzie is excited to be joining the board this year to partner with community members and take on a larger role at GPS.
