Gateway has only been able to grow and thrive for the past 25 years because of our incredible community: parents, alumni, neighbors, community partners, and public education champions from every sector and facet of our city. We hold events throughout the year to raise crucial funds that support our students and teachers, build connection and community, and celebrate the amazing things we can accomplish together on behalf of our kids.

Matters of the Mind
Our biggest event of the year! Each October we invite a luminary speaker to address our audience about their work and their perspective on how we can all make a difference, but that’s just the beginning! We honor our faculty and community members who are making an impact in the lives of our students, celebrate our young people, and have one heck of a party. Thank you to everyone who made our 2023 celebration such a success!
Gateway Salons
These intimate, bespoke events are opportunities for our community members to discover how their passions and interests intersect with our work at Gateway and what our partners are doing throughout San Francisco to make our community more just and equitable. Expect fine dining, refreshing beverages, and fascinating conversations.
The Great Gateway Gathering
Our signature family fundraiser also happens to be one of the best parties of the year! Each spring we invite our community to join us for a night of dancing, cocktails, games and delicious food. This is a 21+ event for parents/caregivers, faculty and staff, alumni families, and Gateway's board members. Tickets go on sale in January, and are available on a sliding scale from free to $100/person.

Tamales and Beer Tasting
Join us Nov. 15 for a casual evening of brews and comfort food in support of not only Gateway but our good friends at Breakthrough SF! Learn a little about what's in your glass with a guided tasting flight, and a little about how Breakthough SF and Gateway are making a positive impact on our city's public school landscape. Tickets start at $50 and rise in price at the event draws near so grab yours now!
The Great Gateway Garage Sale
New for 2024! On May 4th you are cordially invited to spend a day at GHS treasure hunting for the finest gently used fashions, vintage toys, and priceless treasures, all to benefit our teachers and students. More details coming soon!
