Gateway’s mission is to prepare a diverse group of students for success in college and beyond. Since our founding in 1998 more than 96% of our students have matriculated to college, changing their life trajectories. This success stems from Gateway’s intensive college counseling and career exploration programs.
In order for all students - including academically disadvantaged students - to have post-secondary options, they need access to rigorous learning experiences that build connections between what happens in the classroom and in the real world. They need strong training in the emerging fields of science, engineering and technology. They need access to professional role models, mentors and workplace experiences that help fuel ambitious college and career aspirations. And, they need systematic mentoring and the intensive support necessary to understand and navigate the college process.
