Gabe Johnson (he/him)

Gabe has spent his whole life within a tight radius of the Bay Area and currently lives in Oakland. He went to UC Santa Cruz for college, majoring in Religious Studies before getting his MFA in Poetry at Saint Mary’s College. He’s been working with 8th graders since 2014 and at GMS since 2020. He greatly enjoys the absurdity of middle schoolers in all regards as well as opening their eyes to US History and their own stories & power. When not teaching, he can be found playing or watching basketball (go Dubs!), hiking, going to concerts, reading, or spending time with his wife and cat.
