Members of Gateway Middle School’s Pioneering Class Graduate from Gateway High School

Gateway Middle School Pioneering Class

In August of 2011, Gateway Middle School opened its doors to its pioneering class of 104 sixth graders with the mission of supporting and challenging all students to discover their unique potential, actively participate in their community, and develop skills and habits to achieve excellence in high school and college.

Now, seven years later, students graduated from GHS and other schools across San Francisco. Gateway's graduates from our initial middle school pilot cohort are on their way to amazing schools including Boston College, University of Puget Sound, Lehigh University, UCLA, and Mills College after benefiting from the continuity of Gateway’s pedagogy and curriculum year after year.

As members of Gateway High School's class of 2018 and Gateway Middle School's pioneering class reflect on their experience at Gateway, they say they will miss their teachers and peers the most, all who feel like family to them.
