On Saturday, February 9, 2019, Gateway hosted Gateway Impact’s Inaugural Powerful Learners Mini-Conference for educators from all over the Bay Area and California to connect, collaborate, and share best practices.

The morning of free professional development included five workshop sessions centered around student agency tools and practices to help students become powerful learners.

Keynote speakers included Jane Kim, formerly elected San Francisco Supervisor and Board of Education Member, and Gabriela López, the youngest elected member of the San Francisco Unified School District Board of Education.

Gateway Impact is an initiative of Gateway Public Schools that is committed to improving educational outcomes of youth through sharing best practices and by bringing educators together to collaborate and learn from each other. Thanks to incredible funders and allies, all Gateway Impact resources are free, including our conferences.

Gateway Impact’s next educator Mini-Conference will be held in September of 2019.
