Middle School Learning & Literacy Specialist (Full or part-time; 2022-2023)

Gateway Middle School

This is a one-year position to cover a maternity leave. We are looking for someone who can do some or all of the following responsibilities and is open to considering part time work that is focused on a smaller number of responsibilities:

  • Administer one-on-one reading, ELD, and math comprehension assessment in order to individualize instruction and measure growth (e.g. Fountas and Pinnell Reading assessments, etc.)
  • Provide small-group instruction on active reading and meaning making strategies, English language development, and/or math literacy
  • Case manage students with IEPs and/or students with 504s
  • Collaborate with content area teachers to support students in their content area classes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Commitment to Gateway's mission, including a desire to work with a diverse student body
  • Experience providing academic intervention and conducting assessments
  • Experience serving students with learning differences, as well English Learners
  • Current California teaching credential preferred

Compensation:

  • Salary ranges from $55,000 - $90,000 depending on experience and credentials, 10-month schedule
