The College and Career Counselor’s primary responsibilities include:
Student Opportunities Coordination
- Communicate with students and families about extracurricular, scholarship, and other opportunities
- Work with community organizations in developing partnerships, coordinating outreach efforts, and supporting on-site programming offered by partners
- Coordinate onsite opportunities provided by outside partners
- Coordinate the Winter and Spring Internship Programs
Schoolwide College Counseling
- Collaborate with College Team to assist in planning/hosting school-wide college interventions
- Assist in planning/hosting college and scholarship info sessions
- Assist in coordinating volunteer support for seniors applying to college
- Support College Counseling 12 teachers in hosting 1:1 college conferences with seniors
Flex and Advisory:
- Manage Flex block support and coordination
- Lead an Advisory group of 18 students

- Commitment to Gateway's mission, including a desire to work with a diverse student body
- Desire to be part of building the larger school culture and community
- Bilingual and BIPOC candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
