Gateway High School

The College and Career Counselor’s primary responsibilities include:

Student Opportunities Coordination

  • Communicate with students and families about extracurricular, scholarship, and other opportunities
  • Work with community organizations in developing partnerships, coordinating outreach efforts, and supporting on-site programming offered by partners 
  • Coordinate onsite opportunities provided by outside partners
  • Coordinate the Winter and Spring Internship Programs

Schoolwide College Counseling 

  • Collaborate with College Team to assist in planning/hosting school-wide college interventions 
  • Assist in planning/hosting college and scholarship info sessions 
  • Assist in coordinating volunteer support for seniors applying to college 
  • Support College Counseling 12 teachers in hosting 1:1 college conferences with seniors

Flex and Advisory:

  • Manage Flex block support and coordination 
  • Lead an Advisory group of 18 students

  • Commitment to Gateway's mission, including a desire to work with a diverse student body
  • Desire to be part of building the larger school culture and community
