Gateway Public Schools will host a free screening of the critically acclaimed documentary, "Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age," from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 1, in the Gateway High School auditorium.

On Thursday, October 13th, nearly 350 guests and supporters of Gateway Public Schools gathered for the 14th Annual Matters of the Mind Luncheon with honored guest, Bryant Terry, James Beard Award-winning chef, activist, author and inaugural Chef-in-Residence at the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco. Funds raised from the Luncheon directly impact Gateway's capacity to deliver an exceptional public school education.

On Friday, August 12, 2016 Gateway's class of 2020 visited UC Berkeley to get a glimpse of what college life is like. Every year Gateway hosts its freshmen orientation at a college campus to instill college bound expectations among students right from the start of school.

Families and community members joined Gateway High School on Tuesday, March 15, to participate in Genocide Awareness Night, an evening of learning and conversation. Students in Humanities 10 studied the Holocaust, read Elie Wiesel's memoir Night, and researched modern genocides including those in Darfur, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Cambodia.

Families and community members joined Gateway High School on Thursday, March 17, for Gateway's Social Movements Exhibition. Students presented their research on a 20th century social movement: The India Freedom Struggle, South Africa's Anti-Apartheid Movement, and the current Zapatista movement in Chiapas, Mexico.

SFUSD staff received an email threat of violence this morning, similar to those received earlier this week in Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Miami, and several other cities. At Gateway, as across the City and school district, we immediately conducted facilities inspections and coordinated with local federal agencies. All schools have been inspected and nothing suspicious was found. School is open for normal business today.
