Our Commitment to Partnering with Families
At Gateway, we believe that parents and guardians play a vital role in the education of their children. While the middle years tend to be a time when students yearn for greater independence from their families, it is also a time when family involvement remains essential to students’ academic success. Gateway is committed to working with parents and guardians to ensure their students reach the academic and social goals necessary for success in middle school and beyond.
To encourage continued family involvement during this critical transition from elementary school to middle school, Gateway Middle School provides multiple opportunities for meaningful family participation. Our Family Information Nights, Parent and Student-Led Conferences, and student exhibition nights are some of the ways in which we seek to foster parent-school unity. Moreover, we encourage parents and guardians to visit us at school and become active partners in our school community through our Gateway Parents' Association (GPA) and by providing flexible volunteer opportunities. Finally, our vision and commitments to a strong student, family, and school partnership our outlined in more detail in our Gateway Middle School Community Agreements.
